Regarding the Lord’s Supper, the apostle Paul wrote, “For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord’s death till he come.” I Corinthians 11:27.
How often does YOUR church eat the Lord’s Supper? Every month? Every three months? Annually? On some day other than Sunday? Who decides?
But, how often does the New Testament church, the church that we read about in the Bible, eat the Lord’s Supper? Notice from Acts 20:7 – “And upon the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread Paul preached unto them, ready to depart on the morrow; and continued his speech until midnight.” The breaking of bread in Acts 20:7 is a clear reference to the Lord’s Supper.
The New Testament church observes the Lord’s Supper on the first day of every week.
