Some would deny that Jesus is deity. Oh, they may agree that he was a good man. They may even agree that he accomplished much good while on earth; that he had a positive effect on society. But deity? That is, did Jesus Christ really possess the characteristic of God? He most certainly did! Several passages speak of Christ’s divine nature. Acts 17:29; Romans 1:20.

Notice from John 1:1, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” Keep reading from that same chapter and in verse fourteen we find this, “And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth.”

It’s no wonder then that the apostle Paul, by inspiration of the Holy Spirit, wrote, “For in Him all the fullness of Deity dwells in bodily form.” Colossians 2:9.
