“What are you doing sitting down on the job. You’re not finished yet, get up and get back to work.” No, I’m not implying these words ever applied to you, only that you’ve heard this expression or something similar. It’s not time to sit down until you have finished your work.

Now notice the following from Hebrews 1:3. “Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high.”

Christ sat down on the right hand of God AFTER he purged our sins. After He finished His work concerning the redemption of man. No wonder, while on the cross, Jesus said “It is finished.” John 19:30. I’m glad Jesus did not sit down until His work was finished. I’m glad Jesus did not sit down until He made our salvation possible.
