“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth; to the Jew first, and also the Greek.” Romans 1:16.
The Gospel is powerful. It has an indescribable power. Yet, some want to deny its power. “God couldn’t save me. I’ve got such a horrible past. I’ve done so much wrong. I’ve done terrible things in the past. No, God couldn’t save me.”
Friends, that kind of thinking fails to recognize the power of the gospel. In I Corinthians 6:9-11, the apostle Paul wrote, “Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God. And such WERE some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.”
