Have you ever thought that you are now living out the consequences, whether good or bad, of decisions you’ve made in the past? Where you live, where you work (if you work outside the home), the car you drive, your personal relationships, are all a result of past choices.
More importantly, we each make a decision to give ourself to God, or we each decide not to give ourself to God. I’m not talking about a one time decision to call yourself a Christian. I’m talking about much more than that. I’m talking about a lifetime of service to God. It’s about deciding to make Jesus Christ Lord of your life. It’s about allowing God to truly shape your life. I’m talking about genuinely making pleasing God your purpose for living. I’m talking about deciding to make heaven your goal in life, above all else! Each of you decides whether or not you will allow anything to stand between you and God.
“And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.” Joshua 24:15.
Choose wisely, for you will spend all eternity experiencing the consequences, whether good or bad, of your decision.
