What Are You Willing to Defend?

At a time when truth is often trivialized and many would desire simply to agree to disagree and ignore our differences, it’s good to remind ourselves that Christians ought to be willing and able to defend the gospel when it is under attack – II Timothy 4:2-5, Titus 1:9. We are to contend for the faith. Jude 1:3.

How about you? What are you willing to defend? Are you willing to defend the existence of God? Genesis 1:3. The deity of Christ? John 8:24. The one church, as opposed to the myriad of denominations that exist today? Ephesians 4:4. Are you willing to defend the necessity of baptism as a requirement of salvation? Acts 2:38. The judgment of all men and reality of an eternal hell? Hebrews 9:27, Matthew 25:31-46. When many would simply trivialize the scriptures, what are you willing to defend?
