Are you afraid of the dark? I hope so! I wish more people were afraid of the dark. No I’m not talking about being in the dark when you turn off the lights.
In II Peter chapter 4, Peter makes reference to four examples of God’s condemnation and judgment, also noting that the righteous among these groups were spared. These four groups were the angels, those who lived at the time of Noah, the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah and Lot.
Now notice II Peter 2:4. “For if God did not spare the angels who sinned, but cast them down to hell and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved for judgment;” II Peter 2:4.
Did you notice the use of the word translated darkness? It is used in a figurative way to represent separation from God, who is light and in Him there is no darkness! I John 1:5.
When you understand that, it makes perfect sense to wish more people were afraid of the dark. Are YOU afraid of the dark?
