I encourage you to read Acts 8:26-39. There you’ll read about an Ethiopian who had traveled to Jerusalem to worship and was returning home. As he was reading from the prophet Isaiah, Phillip met him and preached Jesus to him. Of course, it’s not possible to preach Jesus without including baptism. As they were traveling, they came to a place where there was water. The Ethiopian asked Phillip “Look, here is water. What is keeping me from being baptized?” Phillip baptized the Ethiopian and he went on his way rejoicing.
The Ethiopian serves as an example for us in three ways. First, he had a worshipping heart. He traveled hundreds of miles to worship God. Second, he had an inquisitive heart. He had an interest in the scriptures. He wasn’t afraid to ask for help in understanding them. Third, he had an obedient heart. As soon as he had opportunity, he was baptized to receive the forgiveness of his sin. When he was forgiven, he went on his way rejoicing
What kind of heart do you have?
