The Water Cycle, Proof of Inspiration

One of the proofs of the Bible’s inspiration is its scientific foreknowledge.  That is, the Bible, with great accuracy, commonly speaks of scientific facts that were not known to man at the time it was written.

The Mississippi River dumps in excess of 6 million gallons of water into the Gulf of Mexico every second.  Once it reaches the ocean, the water evaporates.  Water returns to the land in the form of clouds and then precipitation.

The idea of a complete water cycle was not fully understood until the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries.  Long before man discovered the water cycle, Solomon wrote, “All the rivers run into the sea; yet the sea is not full; unto the place from whence the rivers come, thither they return again” (Ecclesiastes 1:7).
