The diameter of the sun is nearly 865,000 miles. The diameter of a penney is about 3/4 of an inch. That’s quite a difference. Yet, a penney is big enough to block out the sun if you hold it close enough to your eye. 

The power of material possessions pales in comparison to the power of God. Yet, material possessions can block God out of your life if you hold them close enough to your heart. 

Someone may sometimes focus so much on the material things of this world that he has no room, or time, for God in his life. How sad that is. “No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and wealth.” Matthew 6: 24.
