Why Read the Bible (1)

Why read the Bible?  That’s a fair question to ask.  We ought to want to read the Bible because it is the word of God. The apostle Paul wrote, “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works” (II Timothy 3:16-17).

The scriptures are inspired by God, meaning they are “God breathed.”  They have come to us through the mind and mouth of God.  The Bible is God’s way of communicating with man. It is through the Bible that God reveals His thoughts to man.  Open your Bible, meditate on its pages and let God speak!
