“If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable.” (1 Corinthians 15:19) Have you ever read this verse and thought the opposite is also true? No, I don’t mean the opposite of what Paul wrote. But the same thought expressed in an opposite manner. Have you ever read this verse and thought, “If we have hope beyond this life, we are of all men most joyful!” It’s true! Christians have every reason to rejoice. Christians are justified before God because of their obedient faith. They have peace with God through Jesus Christ. Their faith allows them to have access to God’s grace and are able to rejoice in their hope. (Romans 5:1-2) No wonder Paul wrote, “Rejoice in the Lord always: and again I say, Rejoice” (Philippians 4:4)
