It’s not uncommon to hear someone express the sentiment that they love God and are thankful Christ died for them but, they just don’t care much for the church. To many, the church is just not all that important.
But an attitude of “Jesus yes, the church no!” is not possible. The apostle Paul wrote that we are to be thankful for the church. Colossians 1:3. We are to pray for the church. Colossians 1:9. We are to love the church. Colossians 2:2. We are to have consideration for those in the church. Colossians 3:8-14. As Christians, we are to be fellow workers in the church. Colossians 4:7.
Jesus, yes. The church, no. God will never be pleased with that way of thinking!
