In Acts 2, we read of Peter and the other apostles preaching to a large number of people in Jerusalem. About three thousand responded appropriately to the gospel message. When they repented and were baptized to receive the forgiveness of their sin, the Lord added them to the church (Acts 2:47).
Question: To which church were they added? They weren’t added to the Baptist church, the Methodist church, the Presbyterian church or any other denomination. None of these denominations were in existence. They came along long after the day of Pentecost.
Those who were saved were simply added to the Lord’s church. The one body we read about in Ephesians, chapter four.
Is it possible to be a part of that same church today? Of course, it is not only possible it is necessary! I encourage you to free yourself from the shackles of denominationalism, do away with the creeds of men and denominational manuals and use the Bible alone as your guide. I encourage you to simply become a part of the New Testament church – the church that was prophesied in the Old Testament, built by Christ, and bought with His blood.
