Imagine ten people all witness the same event – a bank robbery for example. These people then write down what they saw. It is not likely that you would read their account of what happened without at least a few discrepancies.
Now imagine a book written by approximately 40 men over a period of 1,600 years. They each write in different languages. Yet their book has one common theme with no contradictions. Impossible, you say! Yes, if it were written by ordinary men.
You don’t have to imagine such a book. Consider the Bible: Written by approximately 40 men over a period of about 1,600 years. These men did not know each other and came from a variety of backgrounds and levels of education. One was a cupbearer to the king, one was a shepherd and later a king, one was a tax collector, one a fisherman, one a physician.
They wrote a book in three different languages – Hebrew, Aramaic and Greek with one common theme – the salvation of man through Jesus Christ. Yet there is not one contradiction to be found anywhere in its pages. How so? These men were all inspired by the same God! Friends, you CAN trust your Bible!
