Woe Unto Them That Call Evil Good

A compass can be defined as “a device for determining directions by means of a magnetic needle or group of needles turning freely on a pivot and pointing to magnetic north.” Simply put – a compass gives us direction and points the way we need to go.

A moral compass can be defined as “someone or something that serves as a standard for guiding moral choices, judgments, or behavior.” Simply put – a moral compass gives us direction and points the way we need to go in matters of morality – whether something is right or wrong.

Sadly, many today have lost their moral compass.  They have forgotten, or perhaps are willingly ignorant of, the only correct standard of right and wrong. They have dismissed God’s definition of right and wrong and have accepted a number of sinful practices that God rejects.  From a moral standpoint they have lost their direction. While some look at this as an attitude of love, it is in reality an attitude of arrogance!  Who am I to have the gall to decide something is acceptable when it is plainly and clearly rejected by God?  Whom am I to decide to accept what God rejects?”

“Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!”  Isaiah 5:20.
