In I Samuel 17 we read the familiar account of David and Goliath. David, a young boy, was able to slay the giant. This defied logic. So, what made this possible?

David had a proper perception of the giant. When others said, “Have you seen this man that is come up,” David said, “Who is this uncircumcised Philistine that he should defy the army of the living God?”

David was mindful of past victories. David said, “Thy servant killed the lion and the bear, this Philistine shall be as one of them.”

David relied on the power of God. David told Goliath, “I come to you in the name of the Lord of hosts.”

What Goliath are you facing in your life? Follow David’s example and it can be defeated.
