I recently heard a song leader who, intending to announce the name of the next song to be sung, made an innocent mistake. He intended to announce the song, “Great is Thy Faithfulness” but mistakenly announced “Great is Our Faithfulness.” No big deal. Anyone could have made the mistake. In fact, he corrected himself quickly, making it of no real consequence. The song leader was a young man and I’m proud of people such as him and applaud all those who lead singing.
But it did make me wonder, “How Great is OUR Faithfulness?”
Is OUR faith great enough to give God first place in our hearts and lives? Is OUR faith great enough to carry us through the valleys of life as well as over the mountains? Is OUR faith great enough to drive fear out of our lives! Take it a step further- I could ask the same questions by substituting “my” in the place of “our.” How great is MY faith?
I’m thankful for that young song leader. Through an innocent mistake, he gave me something to think about.
