Some say one is the loneliest number.  We usually think of one as the smallest whole number.  In reality, one is a powerful number.  In writing to the church at Ephesus, the apostle Paul wrote, “There is one body.”  Only one.  From Ephesians 1:23, we know the body is the church. One body, one church.

Christ’s church was always in the mind of God.  Ephesians 3:10. Daniel prophesied Christ’s church would be established in the time of the Roman Empire.  Daniel 2:44. Being built by Christ, it is not of human origin.  Matthew 16:18. It was bought with His blood. Acts 20:28. Christ’s one church is the only place where the saved are found. Ephesians 5:23. It has no headquarters on earth, but has Christ as its head. Colossians 1:18. Today, Christ’s church still follows the pattern given in the New Testament and has heaven as its final destination.  I Corinthians 15:24.
