The Power of One – One Spirit

The number one may seem insignificant to some, but in reality it is of great significance.  In Ephesians 4:3-4 Paul wrote, “Endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. There is one body, and one Spirit…..”

This Spirit, the Holy Spirit, having all the divine nature of God, is deity.  In Acts chapter 5, Ananias, along with his wife, Sapphira, sold some of their land and gave the money to the apostles.  Evidently, they lied about the amount they gave, keeping a portion of it for themselves. In verse three Peter asked Ananias why he had lied to the Holy Spirit.  In verse five Peter told Ananias he had not lied to men, but to God. From Peter’s words it is obvious the Holy Spirit has all the characteristics of God.  He is deity! He inspired men to write the Bible, thus showing us the way to heaven.  “Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.  For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.” II Peter 2:20.

One is a very significant number!
