Have you ever known someone who started a project without first reading the instructions? Perhaps you bought something that needed assembled and cast the instructions off to the side, thinking “I don’t need those. This can’t be so hard that I can’t figure it out on my own.” I have to confess, I’ve done that at times and it usually didn’t turn out so well. Imagine getting part way through and deciding reading the instructions was a pretty good idea after all.

Life is like that.  We often think life is not so hard that we can’t figure it out on our own. But life can be lived successfully only when we take the time to read, and follow, God’s instructions.

“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge; Fools despise wisdom and instruction.” Proverbs 1:7.
