Lessons From Zaccheus

When Zaccheus sought to see Jesus, he was unable because he could not see over the crowd.  Luke 19:1-10. He climbed up into a sycamore tree, knowing Jesus would pass that way.  When Jesus came near, he looked up and saw Zaccheus.  He told Zaccheus to hurry and come down.  Jesus then told Zaccheus he was coming to Zaccheus’ house.  Jesus later said, “This day salvation is come to this house, forasmuch as he also is a son of Abraham.”

Jesus saw the crowd.  But he looked up and saw Zaccheus.  Jesus saw the crowd one by one.  He saw Zaccheus as someone in need of salvation and called him by name.

Today, Jesus loves the whole world.  But he loves the world one by one.  Jesus sees you and knows you by name.  He cares about you and sees you as someone in need of salvation.
