One of the great proofs of the Bible’s inspiration is its indestructibility. Voltaire, a French writer and philosopher who lived from 1694-1778, once said that in 100 years there will not be a Bible left on earth. Two hundred years later, Voltaire’s own writings sold for a mere 11 cents. After Voltaire died, his printing press was used to print Bibles. His house was used by the Geneva Bible Society to store Bibles.
Men have done everything they could over the years to eliminate the Bible from society. They have burned it in flames, banned it from being sold and barred it from being read. Yet the Bible still stands its ground.
