Identified By Your Walk

Have you ever known someone who could be identified, even from a distance, by the way they walked? The way the walked was so unique that it revealed who they were? (For those of you who like to watch old westerns, John Wayne comes to mind).
Can people tell who you are by the way you walk? Can people tell what you are by the way you walk? The Bible often uses the word “walk” to refer to a person’s behavior, or conduct. Can people tell you are a Christian by the way you walk?
A Christian’s walk is to be unique, or different from the way the world walks. There must be something about our behavior that sets us apart. “This I say, therefore, and testify in the Lord, that you should no longer walk as the rest of the Gentiles walk, in the futility of their mind,” Ephesians 4:17.
A Christian’s walk must be fitting, or appropriate, for the name Christian. Simply put, if you’re going to call yourself a Christian, act like a Christian. “I, therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you to walk worthy of the calling with which you were called,” Ephesians 4:1.
What does a Christian’s walk entail? It requires walking by faith, and not by sight. II Corinthians 5:7. It involves walking in every good work. Ephesians 2:10. The Christian’s walk requires that we walk in love. No doubt this includes a love for God, love for other Christian’s and a love for all men. Ephesians 5:2. It requires that we walk in the light. I John 1:5-7.
The Christian’s walk can be summed up in I John 2:6. “He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk just as He walked.” A Christian’s greatest ambition in life should be to develop the heart and mind of Christ.
Can people tell you’re a Christian by the way you walk?
